- Permit to uplink news and current affairs TV channels.
- Authorization to uplink a news agency, and
- Approval to use the SNG Equipment over C and KU bands.
Eligibility criteria to obtain said permissions
You can only obtain the permission that we have above-mentioned permissions if the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting deems you eligible for it. The eligibility criteria are as follows:
- For setting up uplinking hub:
- You should have a company registered under Companies Act, 2013
- The minimum net worth of that company should be INR 3 Crore.
- For Uplinking your Indian news channel:
- You should have a company registered under Companies Act, 2013
- The minimum net worth of that company should be INR 20 Crore.
- Your company must have accreditation from Press Information Bureau

How to obtain new agency registration
If you fulfil all the eligibility criteria, all remains is for you to apply for news agency registration. The procedure relies on the following documents that you must procure on a priority basis:
- Application processing fee
- Duly filled Form-1
- Affidavit in Form 1A and IC for up-linking
- Affidavit in Form 1A and IB for down-linking
- Shareholding pattern of the company
- Certificate of incorporation
- List of directors of the company
- Data of the directors
- Audited Balance sheet of the last three years till the date of application filing
- Profit and loss statement of the last three years till the date of application filing.
- FDI calculation sheet
- TSP agreement
- Satellite Lease agreement
- Transponder details
- technical specifications of all the equipments at your premises
- Project report
- Block schematic diagram of the downlinking distribution
- List of enclosures
- PIB accreditation certificate copy

After furnishing those documents, you need to follow the steps as given below:
- Apply for individual permissions to the MIB
- Submit those documents
- The application will be first assessed and if accepted, you’ll receive the permission agreement in Form 2
- You’ll then receive the approval to obtain approval from WPC
- Submit the license fee and loyalty to Wireless Planning and Coordination wing and you’ll obtain the News Agency registration.
