The office is staffed of knowledgeable and compassionate personnel who will help you make the most of your educational experience. The office also offers the likes of FIT-ABLE’s aficionados an array of resources for surviving life as a student. The FITABLE community enjoys a variety of events and activities that revolve around the mission of FITABLE. Its mission is to provide equal access to education for all qualified students with disabilities and to eliminate physical and social barriers. The office also offers a host of resources to assist students in a variety of special needs. This includes, but is not limited, bilingual assistance, psychological and medical support, tutoring, housing, and tutoring.
Cecil College
Cecil College is located in northeastern Maryland and offers a variety academic disability services Melbourne

Fairleigh Dickinson University

The Disability Support Services office (DSS), which works closely with administrators and faculty, ensures that students with disabilities have equal access and use to all activities and resources at the University. Academic adjustment is a type of reasonable adjustment that enables students with a disability to demonstrate mastery of material in a course. A student with a disability can receive note-taking assistance in class, during activities in class, or during exams. A student can request a distraction-reduced test room so that they can take exams in a more peaceful environment.

Long Island University

The Learning Center, also known as Disability Support Services, is a group of professionals that works with students to ensure equal access for all Long Island University programs. It also serves to be a resource for members of the University community.
DSS provides free assistance to students with disabilities. Students must submit a Request for Accommodations Form with appropriate documentation of their disability. The documentation must include a diagnosis from a qualified professional. It should also include suggestions for accommodations.
The DSS office will review your documentation and contact you for an intake interview. It may take up one week for your application to be processed by the office. The review process is confidential. If your application has been accepted, you will receive an Accommodations form that you need to submit to your academic department.
If your application is not accepted, you may still be eligible to receive accommodations. You will need a reapplication each semester. Accommodation is not automatic. You may also need testing to determine eligibility. If your accommodations are not approved, you will need to pay for testing fees.
Even if accommodations are not available, you can still meet your faculty to discuss timing and seating arrangements. It’s important to let your instructors know your disability so that they can provide you with the best possible accommodations.
North Idaho College
North Idaho College is a college located on the shores Lake Coeur d’Alene. It is dedicated to student success. NIC offers a wide array of programs and services for students who are credit or non-credit.
The NIC campus sits on the shores of Lake Coeur o’Alene, surrounded by beautiful mountains and rivers. The college offers associate’s degrees as well as general education programs. NIC also has regional centers in Sandpoint, Post Falls and Rathdrum.
NIC also houses a Disability Support Services Department. This department offers a variety of services to students with disabilities. The department offers accommodation for students with learning, emotional and physical disabilities. This department coordinates the provision of effective academic access support services.
The Disability Support Services section provides students with a variety service options to help them succeed on NIC. This department also provides services for students at Boise State University campuses.
The Disability Support Services department also has an impressive website, which includes an FAQ page. This page contains information on NIC’s disability support services and other helpful information. You can also access an online form that students can use to request accommodations.
Students with disabilities will find the NIC Disability Support Alliance club a great place to find out about resources at NIC. The club also offers events to bring together the community.
National Center on Workforce and Disability/Adult
The National Center on Workforce and Disability/Adult Disability support services can help you achieve your employment goals, regardless of whether you are a job seeker and/or a business owner. It provides training, policy analysis and accessible tools to help people find work. You can also find out about the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and what employers can do for you.
The ADA National Network supports the Small Business Innovation Research Program. It provides funding and support to entrepreneurs who have new ideas for people living with disabilities. Additionally, individuals with disabilities have access to many other services. These include state vocational rehabilitation agencies, employment service providers, and employment networks.
The SSA’s Ticket Program provides job training and assistance to disabled beneficiaries. It reduces the need of disability benefits and increases financial independence. Beneficiaries can take advantage of the program at no cost.
The Joint Advisory Network is managed by the Department of Labor’s Office of Disability Employment Policy. This network provides a wide range of resources and services related to job accommodations and disability legislation. JAN also provides personalized technical assistance for employers and individuals with disabilities. JAN consultants have easy access to many government agencies, support groups, as well as resources.
The SSA’s Office of Program Development and Research also created a grant program to fund Disability Program Navigators at WIA-One-Stop Career Centers. These navigators are experts in workforce development issues for people living with disabilities and can facilitate access to the appropriate supports and services.
